“THE BOYS’ BRIGADE”

COMBINED PICNIC AND SPORTS. The Invercargill companies of "The Boys' Brigade” held their first annual sports at Thomson’s Bush on Saturday, March 5. The officer presented a good programme and some interesting running was witnessed. Unfortunately for First Invercargill Company, some of their best boys were competing at St. Paul’s sports. The Senior Championship resulted in an easy win for J. Wilkinson, First Invercargill, who was never extended and piled up 20 points. S. Rizzie, Second Invercargill, was second with 14 points. The Intermediate champion was W. Giles, Second Invercargill, and the Junior champion was J. Adamson, Second Invercargill. The points for the Sports Cup were: Second Invercargill, 1, with 126 points; First Invercargill, 2, with 37 points; Third Invercargill, 3, with 2 points.
