PURCHASE OF GOLD
A STATEMENT CORRECTED. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, March 9. Mr W. A. Bodkin, M.P., in advocating in the House of Representatives the purchase of gold by the State is corrected by the banks in his allegation that the banks in buying gold from small prospectors were making profits by retaining the value of the exchange. The Evening Post is officially informed that this is contrary to fact, the banks treating the sellers of small and large parcels of gold alike. The exchange rate is changing day by day.
