BOXING
THE CAMPBELL-NICOL BOUT. REASON FOR POSTPONEMENT. The professional boxing contest between Ray Nicol and Alan Campbell, which was set down for Saturday night at Dunedin, was postponed indefinitely as the Otago Association had been advised by Nicol that he recently met with a slight accident, and this was supported by a certificate from Dr. George Wood, of Nightcaps, stating that it would be unwise for Nicol to box in the meantime.
CARNER.-VS NEXT MATCH. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) London, March 7. Primo Camera has been matched to fight George Cook at the Albert. Hall on March 17. PHYSICAL DISPARITY NOTED. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, March 7. The physical disparity between Camera and George Cook is underlined in Press comments. The Daily Telegraph says Cook recently proved that he is still fast and fit. He has earned the right to meet Camera. Cook can only hope to win by cleverness in ringcraft, for he never had a real punch. Certainly he will be unable to hurt Carnera. If he steers clear of the Italian’s punches he has an outside chance to win on points, but as Camera is fast even this is unlikely.
