PARLIAMENT

THE WEEK’S WORK ♦ NO FRESH LEGISLATION PROVISIONS OF I.C. AND A. ACT (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, March 7. As far as is known at present, no fresh legislation will be introduced to the House during the present week although it is possible that an amendment to the Mortgagors Relief Act may appear. At the present time it is the intention of the Government to continue the Address-in-Reply debate to-morrow and Wednesday and proceed to the second reading of the I.C. and A. Amendment Bill on Thursday and Friday. It is understood that arrangements will be made for the trades and labour representatives to place their views on the measure before the Prime Minister and the Minister of Labour to-morrow, and if that eventuates, provisions will be made for the employers’ representatives to do likewise. A Government caucus will be held before the bill reappears and the measure will be fully discussed and individual members’ attitudes defined.
