Bad Tolz, an old Bavarian health resort, noted for its iodine springs, has celebrated its 600th anniversary. In 1331 Ludwig, the Bavarian, gave the town its first charter as a market place. The springs were discovered in 1846. Bad Tolz received its city charter in 1906, on the occasion of its 575th anniversary.
