Mrs W. Allison has been spending a holiday at the Rocks. Mrs Coster left for Colac Bay on Thursday, where she is visiting friends. Miss McLeod was the guest of Mr and Mrs H. McLeod last week. Miss C. Atkinson, Green Island, is staying with Mr and Mrs Muirhead, Aparima. Mrs 0. Gallagher is the guest of the Misses O’Brien. Mr and Mrs A. L. Adamson, Invercargill, were the guests of Mr and Mrs E. Harrington last week. Miss Marjory Lumsden was visiting friends in the township last week. The Rev. C. H. and Mrs Olds, Invercargill, were the guests of the Rev. and Mrs Challenger during the week. Mrs Durie, Brisbane, is the guest of Mr and Mrs R. Bird. Mrs J. Kirk is spending a holiday with the Misses Rendall, Brydone. Misses F. Macdonald (Tuatapere) and Findlay (Orawia) left during the week on a motor tour of the South Island. On Friday afternoon Mr and Mrs D. Templeton held a children’s party in honour of their three grandchildren, Des Wingfield (Central Otago) and Fraser and David Templeton (Christchurch). The little people played happily together and then gathered for the party tea, the room for which was gaily decorated with streamers and balloons, the latter afterwards being distributed among the children. The small guests, some of whom were accompanied by their parents, were: Fay Lindsay, Margaret Fisher, Sally Chisholm, Madeline Ireland, Morven Low, Edwina Hamlyn, Margaret Durrant, Nancy Henderson and Honor Price (InVercargill), Stewart Ryan, James Lindsay, Hugh Irving, John Fisher and Robert Herdman (Timaru). Mrs and the Misses Duncan left on Mondaj- morning to spend a holiday at Colac. Mrs W. B. Rowan and family, who have been spending a holiday at Colac, returned on Saturday. Mrs H. A. Grant, Christchurch, is spending a few days with Mr and Mrs W. B. Rowan, and intends to take part in the jubilee celebrations of the Riverton School.
