YOUNG PEOPLE’S PICNIC. Tho Wendon Valley young people’s picnic was held in Mr H. Horrell’s paddock on Wednesday, January 13, a large gathering representative of the surrounding districts attending. The weather up till midday seemed doubtful, slight rain showers falling at intervals, but fortunately the remainder of the day was fine', allowing those present to spend a most enjoyable afternoon. The various events were put through with alacrity, reflecting much credit on' the executive committee as a whole. Some very close and exciting finishes resulted in the field events, the handicaps for which were drawn up by Messrs R. Gardyne and J. Rankin, while Mr T. Henderson acted as starter.
