OBITUARY
MRS G. WEST. (From Our Correspondent.) Die death occurred in the Southland Hospital last week of Mrs West, wife of Mr George West, Bluff. Deceased before marriage was Miss Louisa Coupar, daughter of Mr James Coupar and the late Mrs Mere Coupar, of Whakapatu. She was born on December 12, 1880, and received her education at Colac Bay and Bluff Schools. Miss Coupar married Mr George West at Cohic Bay in 1903, the couple coming to Bluff, where they settled and resided ever since. During her residence at the port, Mrs West gained the highest esteem of her fellow citizens. Of a kindly’, bright disposition she was ever ready to assist others and her passing at a comparatively early age is deeply regretted by a wide circle of friends, many of whom attended the funeral, the interment taking place in Bluff cemetery' on Friday last. Services at the church and graveside were conducted by the Rev. W. W. Ewart, of St. Matthew’s Church of England, of which denomination the deceased was an adherent. Tiie pall bearers were Messrs H. M. Joss, A. Austin, T. West, T. Spencer, A. Wixon and 11. Ryan. Mrs West is survived by' her husband, father, and a family of three daughters,and two sons, namely: Mesdames H. Valentine (Bluff), A. A. Hart (Invercargill) and A. D. McGregor (Dunedin) ; and Messrs George and James West (Bluff).
