TRADE TREATY EXPIRES NEXT YEAR.

Ottawa, December 17.

It was officially announced to-day that the Canada-France trade treaty terminates on June 16 of next year. In the meantime Canada is prepared to enter into negotiations for a new treaty. The preferences extended to several other countries, based on the French treaty, will also be terminated.
