Christchurch, December 17.
At a meeting of the Council of tne New Zealand Swimming Association it was reported that the concessions formerly granted by the Railways Department io competitors attending the New Zealand championships had been withdrawn. D. P. Lindsay's 880 yards in llmin ssec was passed as a New Zealand record. A Canterbury motion giving the council authority, if it thought fit, to refund to centres the amount received by way of registration fees from clubs, was deferred in order that the proposal might be circulated among the centres.
