LOSS OF STATUS
N.S.W. INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION
(United Prees- Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) Sydney, December 16.
The Full Court in a decision to-day declared that the Industrial Commission as at present constituted was ultra vires. The Court held that since the resignation of Commissioner K. W. Street on his elevation to the Supreme Court Bench, the deputy commissioner had no power to carry on the commission's functions and no jurisdiction to determine any matter affecting industrial awards. It is understood the Government proposes immediate legislative measures to remedy the position.
