A widow, born at St. Albans, who has returned to England after living for 25 years in the United States, sent Mr Snowden £2OO anonymously “in memory of the woman who gave her free-will offering—the Widow’s Mite —about 2000 years ago.” In a recent 12 months the British Royal Mint issued 39,780,000 pennies, 22,000,000 halfpennies, and 7,000,000 farthings.
