The.Tamatea will sail for Stewart Island on her weekly trip to-day, leaving Bluff at 10.15 a.m. and returning to connect with the 6.18 p.m. train for Invercargill. The Britannia which has been down to Solomon Island with a party of naturalists returned to Bluff at 4 pan. yesterday. The Union Company’s intercolonial steamer Wainui reached Bluff from Dunedin early yesterday morning. After loading mails and a small quantity of cargo she sailed shortly after midday for Melbourne. Cable advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the motor liner Rangitiki arrived at Southampton on December 10 from Auckland, via Panama. The vessel left Auckland on November 7. The Union Company’s motor liner Aorangi left Vancouver on December 9 for Honolulu, Suva, Auckland and Sydney. She is due at Auckland on December 27. The Federal Company has received cable advice that the Hertford, in ballast from Falmouth, cleared Balboa on December 4 for Lyttelton, where she is due on December 28 to commence Homeward loading. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Mataroa, which arrived at Wellington last Thursday from London and Southampton, brought about 80 passengers and 168 bags of English mail and 552 parcel receptacles. She was to leave Wellington on Saturday for Auckland to complete discharge. The Port Huon has been fixed to sail finally from Wellington on December 19 for London, via Cape Horn and Dakar, instead of on December 21, as previously arranged. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship Port Huon is scheduled to leave Liverpool on March 12 w-ith cargo from west coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin.
