ATTEMPT ON SPEED RECORD. CABLE FROM SIR MALCOLM CAMPBELL. (Per United Press Association). Auckland, December 15. “May the very best of luck attend your efforts on the world’s record,” says Sir Malcolm Campbell, England’s great racing motorist and present holder of the world’s flying mile speed record, in a cablegram to Norman (“Wizard”) Smith. Smith said he very much appreciated the message and that it was typical of Sir Malcolm Campbell’s sporting spirit.
