OPIO SCHOOL
ANNUAL CONCERT.

The annual school concert and dance was held at Opio on Friday evening, when there was a good and responsive audience. Mr P. Sinclair, chairman of the School Committee, presided. All the items were well received and the concert was voted one of the best yet held. The school children excelled themselves and those responsible for their training were congratulated on the results attained.
The following programme was submitted: Opening chorus, pupils; song, Mrs H. S. Macdonald; recitation, Boss Sinclair; song, Miss Peek; hoop drill, girls; humorous recitation, D. Murphy; vocal duet, B. Sinclair and J. Casey; harp solo, Mr Rapier; dialogue, senior pupils; song, Mr Smeaton; song, Gladys Stroud; song, Miss Rapier; coon song, boys and girls; vocal duet, Miss and Master Magee; pianoforte duet, Misses Sherman and Hyde; dialogue, pupils; comedy, ‘The Haunted House,” Miss Burke and D. Murphy; song, Mr Smeaton; harp selection, Mr Rapier (encored) ; chorus, girls; song, Miss Rapier; chorus, pupils. A most enjoyable dance followed, music being provided by Messrs Egan and Stroud, while Mr F. M. Strudwicke performed the duties of M.C.
