United States purchases of men’s straw hats in 1930 from Italy were 1,140,000, against 7,700,000 in 1929. The States are the chief buyers of straw hats from Italy. In men’s felt hats the United States and Britain combined took only 500,000, against 1,000,000 in 1929.
