YOUNG MAN SHOT. (Per United Press Association.) Masterton, December 14. Oswald McAlpine, aged 18 years, of Martinborough, was accidentally shot at Whatarangi on Sunday evening while out shooting. He was conveyed to a private hospital in Martinborough where an operation was performed. The bullet penetrated his abdomen and his condition is serious. A SUDDEN DEATH. Dunedin, December 14. While working about a motor car in a section at Caversham on Saturday afternoon, Thomas Garland Maclean, aged 22, collapsed and died. FALL OVER CLIFF. Christchurch, December 14. Percy G. Loader of 550 Barbadoes street, was seriously injured yesterday at Taylor’s Mistake as the result of a fall over a cliff while prospecting for a ■ better fishing ground. He had left his companion, A. C. C. Robilliard, the well-known All Black, to clamber over the rocks in the other direction. Loader was admitted to hospital and is progressing favourably to-day despite concussion. INJURIES END FATALLY. Napier, December 14. Thomas Henry Bali, aged 19 years, died yesterday as the result of a car going over a bank near Waikari.
