WEDDING
williams— McDougall. A wedding of considerable interest to the people in the Western District of Southland was solemnized at St. Andrew’s Church, Otautau, by the Rev. R. A. Forde on Wednesday, December 2, when Mary, fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs J. R. McDougall, was married to Harold Owen, youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs R. W. Williams, Invercargill. The bride’s dress was a French model of parchment satin. Her veil was of Brussels lace, bordered with Honeton lace, and she carried a sheaf of lilies. The bridesmaid, Miss Margaret McDougall (sister of the bride) wore a simple frock of green georgette. She also carried a beautiful bouquet of roses to tone with her frock. The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. D. Cowie, Invercargill. As the bride entered the church she was met by the church acolytes, who escorted her to the altar. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, Merrivale road.
