A most enjoyable evening was spent chiefly in dancing, music being supplied by the following:—Mesdames Ibbotson. McKay, Messrs P. and F. Shallard, and R. Walker. Mr H. Greer carried out the duties of M.C. During the evening several enjoyable items were given by Misses G. Strachan, K. Clarke and Mr S. Gordon. Mr Gee, spoke eulogistically of Miss Lennon’s work in this district. He said she had been in his employ for five years ahd he had never had cause to complain about the manner in which she had carried out her duties. Mr Gee wished Miss Lennon the best of health, wealth and prosperity in her future life. Mr J. C. Macpherson spoke on similar lines, and presented Miss Lennon with many beautiful and valuable gifts. During the evening, Mr Gee took the opportunity of presenting the guest with a crystal fruit dish as a gift from the Tennis Chib. Mr J. Wills suitablyreplied on behalf of Miss Lennon, after which musical honours were accorded both Miss Lennon and Mr Wills.

Mrs Butcher, of Dunedin, is at present the guest of Mr and Mrs Welnoski. Mrs W. Barclay, of Greenvale, is spending her holiday with her sister, Fleming.
