WARNING ISSUED
AUSTRALIAN UNEMPLOYED.
WORKING THEIR WAY TO LONDON
(United Press Assn. —By Telegraph—Copyright.)
London, December 11
A warning has been issued in reference to a number of Australian unemployed who are either working their passages here or stowing away mistakenly believing that they can obtain either work or the dole, or failing either, can find a ship on which to work a return passage. Several Australian Agencies-General are receiving frequent pathetic applications to help those who are stranded and are unable to find a regular job, to qualify for the dole or even to find a chance of work on a ship going back. Shipowners point out that they must naturally give preference to their own employees who are now among the ranks of the unemployed.
