(Written for the Southland Times.) Bards of the north, the sunny north! Where Celts are thick as summer bees; Where Irishness Is uttered forth In Eileen’s dainty melodies.

Where Ishbel Somebody or Other, W T ould say a twilight beats the sun, And all would call “A. E.” their brother, And give us Celt lore underdone.
