MONTHLY MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Southland Land Board there were present: The Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr B. C. A. McCabe) in the chair, and Messrs J. Hargest, L. A. Niederer and T. Hamilton. Correspondence. The Under-Secretary for Lands advises that Mr L. A. Niederer of Gorge Road, has been appointed a member of the Southland Land Board for a term of two years from December 1, 1931. E. M. Gordon applied to surrender her Education Reserve lease of Part Section 13 Block V, Town of Otautau comprising 39.88 poles.-—Resolved that surrender might be passed in terms of Section 12 of the Public Bodies Leases Act, 1908. The Commissioner submitted a schedule of Education lieserves, the leases of which will expire in 1933. —Resolved that Field Inspectors Keppel and Sadd be appointed appraisers in their respective districts. Thomas Ambrose applied for a grazing license over Section 7 Block XX, Town of Gore, comprising 1 rood 02perches.—Left in hands of commissioner.

Regarding the disposal of two islands in the Oreti river opposite Block VIII Hokonui S.D., comprising 20 acres and at present held under temporary license by E. Henderson, it was resolved that the resolution of November 19 to rescinded, that existing license be cancelled and that temporary right be granted over one of the islands to W.
