EXTENSIVE DAMAGE
FROST AND HAIL IN CANTERBURY. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, November 25, A frost of eight degrees last night caused extensive damage to young fruit trees and new potatoes and tomatoes throughout North Canterbury. Further damage was caused by a sharp hailstorm in some districts. One grower lost six acres of marrows and pumpkins. At Weston the hailstones broke the windows and hardly one house was not touched in this way and the skylights of the railway station were smashed as well as the post office windows.
