REPORTS OF MEETINGS. The usual fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Pioneer of Southland Lodge No. 27 Was held in the U.F.S. Hall, Tay street, on Thursday, June 17, at 7.30 p.m. V.G. Bro. O’Toole presiding. N.G. Bro. Dawson, who assumed office later in the evening, welcomed the visiting brethren from Aparima, Star of Waikiwi, Alfred (Oamaru) and Aroha Lodges, representatives suitably responding and conveying fraternal greetings. Members of the dispensary committee reported briefly on matters of interest, N.G. thanking them for coming along and keeping the lodge in touch with their work. Four members were, after being balloted for and found favourable, granted permission to receive degrees. P.D.D.G.M. Bro. G. Walker reported that the dispensary committee was holding a converse with the doctors with a view of having fees reduced.

The fortnightly meeting of Rata Lodge was held in Kennington Hall on June 14 Sister White presiding over a fair attendance of members. There being very little business of any importance the general meeting closed. The social committee held a meeting to investigate the balance sheet of a dance held on June 2 which, after perusal, disclosed a .very good credit balance this being entirely due to the untiring efforts of the social secretary, Sister M. McQueen.

The regular monthly meeting of the Minerva Juvenile Ix>dge No. 2,1.0.0. F. was held in the U.F.S. Hall on Monday, June 1. Acting N.G. Bro. Richards presided over a large attendance of members. Three propositions for membership, were received and two new members were initiated in a creditable manner. One of our ever popular shooting competitions resulted in a win for Bro. D. Thomson, with Bro. C. Jenkinson second. The evening concluded with a daintily served supper.' The quarterly meeting of the Takiara Rebekah Lodge No. 7,1.0.0. F., was held in the United Friendly Societies’ Hall on Monday, June 22, 1931, Sister M. Moir, Noble Grand, presiding over a large attendance of members.

Two sisters were reported sick and sick pay passed accordingly. Half-yearly accounts were also passed for payment. Two propositions for membership were received. At the conclusion of the meeting, a most enjoyable evening waa spent in flag 500, thirty of the sisters and brothers participating. Sister Wachner, who had kindly donated the prizes, presented them to the winners, Sister Jean Smith, Bros. D. Brown and J. Robertson. After a dainty supper had been served by the sisters a very happy evening terminated with the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
