LIMEHILLS NOTES
(From Our Correspondent.) On Monday evening the Limehills School Jubilee Committee held its second meeting in connection with the coming function. Great interest is being taken by the expupils and the meeting was well attended. Secretaries have been elected for each decade of expupils, ex-teachers and excommittee men. An executive was also appointed. The diamond jubilee is to be celebrated in January, 1933. The Kia Ora basketball team met and defeated Limehills on their own grounds on Wednesday. The game started by Kia-Ora attacking vigorously and scoring 4 points before the ball reached the Limehills shooting third. Limehills then woke up, scoring 5 goals in succession in as many minutes. From then on the game was even, Limehills having slightly the better of the play, but the Kia-Ora shoots were shooting more accurately. The spell ended in Kia-Ora’s favour by 10 to 8. The second spell started by Kia-Ora netting two goals in succession. From then on the game was of an even nature, both teams displaying excellent form. The passing was of a very high standard, the final score being 15 —11 in Kia Ora’s favour. Mr G. Dennis acted as referee. The outstanding players for KiaOra were Misses Egerton (shoot), E. Norman (centre) and Collet (defence), and for Limehills Misses E. Crowe (shoot) and G. Casey and K. McHugh (centres).
