PUBLIC NOTICES. THE SOUTHLAND ELECTRIC POWER BOARD. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE RATES. XIOTICE IS HEREBY' GIVEN THAT LA the Southland Electric-power Board intends at the Meeting of the Board, to be held at the Board’s Offices, situated at Dee Street-, Invercargill, on TUESDAY, the 14th day of July, 1931, at 10.30 a.m.': (a) To make and levy a uniform general rate under Subsection (1) of Section 56 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1931, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1932, of One penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Southland Electric-power District on the basis of the unimproved value: (b) to make and levy the separate rates under Subsection (2) of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1931, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1932, as follows namely:— One twenty-fourth of one penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the portion of the Southland Electric-power District included within the boundaries of the County of Wallace on the basis of the unimproved value. One twenty-fourth of. one penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within that portion of the Southland Efectric-power District which is also part of the County of Tuapeka on the basis of the unimproved value. Three-tenths of one penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the portion of the Southland Elec-tric-power District included within the boundaries of the Awarua Riding of the County of Southland on the basis of the unimproved value. One-fifth of one penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the portion of the Southland Electric-power district included within the boundaries of the Winton Riding of the County of Southland on the basis of the unimproved value. Seven-twentieths of one penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the portion of the Southland Electric-power District included within the boundaries of the Oreti Riding of the County of Southland on the basis of the unimproved value. Seven-thirtieths of one penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the portion of the Southland Electric-power District included within the boundaries of the Mataura Riding of the County of Southland on the basis of the unimproved value.

AND THAT such Rates with respect to each rateable property within the said Elec-tric-power District will be payable at the Office of the local authority of the constituent district within which such property is situate. The said constituent districts and the situation of the offices of the said local authorities are as follows: — Constituent District: Office: County of Southland: Clyde Street, Invercargill. County of Wallace: Main Street, Otautau. County of Tuapeka (portion of) : Lawrence. County of Clutha (portion of) : Balclutha. City of Invercargill: Town Hall, Invercargill. Borough of South Invercargill: Town Hall, South Invercargill. Borough of Gore: Town Hall, Gore. Borough of Mataura: Town Hall, Mataura. Borough of Winton: Town Hall, Winton. Borough of Riverton: Town Hall, Riverton. Borough of Bluff : Town Hall, Bluff. Borough of Tapanui: Town Hall, Tapanui. Nightcaps Town District: Nightcaps. Otautau Town District: Otautau. Lumsden Town District: Lumsden. Wyndham Town District: Wyndham. AND THAT such rates will become payable in one amount on the fifteenth day of August, 1931. AND THAT the Valuation Rolls of the several above-mentioned constituent districts are now open for inspection at the several offices above-mentioned. DATED this 15th day of June, 1931. CHAS.
