REBUILDING NAPIER. (Per United Tress Association.) Napier, June 24. New buildings and reconditioning in the Napier district are announced as follows: Royal Hotel £1350, Baptist Church Sunday School £lOOO, St.' John’s Cathedral temporary church £2500, St. John's Diocesan Hall and offices £3OOO, North's buildings £lOOO, Hawkes Bay Children’s Home £7OO, Waiohiki Dairy Factory £3OO, France House £3700. The latest proposal is to rebuild Emerson street on the southern side in one building of two storeys, the upper one of which will stand ten feet further back than the ground floor, providing a boulevard. It is claimed that the whole street could be let in one contract and would save much money in party walls and building expenses generally.
