LONDON MARKET. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated the 20th instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow: No auction this week. The market is steady for spot. Little more inquiry for shipment. Spot quotations are nominally unchanged. Hemp: The manila marget is irregular, closing easier. K grade June/August shipment sold down to £l6 10/-; July/September shipment at. £l6 17/6. Sisal: Market steady. Small business was done with No. 1 fair average quality for June/August shipment at £l5 7/6 to £l5 10/-. No. 2 quoted buyers at £l4 10/-. Mexican situation unchanged and no sales officially re ported. New Zealand: Offering on the basis of highfair June/August shipment £2O 10/-, fair £lB 5/-. Little more trade inquiry is noticeable, resulting in small sales. Common and rejected wanted, but. supplies appear to be exhausted. Fruit: Market firm. Continued dull weather has delayed strawberries. The Tamaroa cleared. Stunners 11/- to 13/-. The Somerset arrived yesterday; mainly Otago, selling at abou* last week’s prices. Cox.s Orange 16/- up to 30/-. Pears ex-Rangi-tane: Winter Nelis 12/- to 15/-.
