BOXING
DONOVAN DEFEATS JONES. (Per United Press Association.) New Plymouth, April 6. Tommy Donovan (Waitara) New Zealand featherweight and lightweight champion, at Hawera to-night outpointed Jack Jones (Hawera) ex-champion of Wales. The fight went the full distance but Donovan was too fast and rugged for Jones and wore his opponent down. Jones boxed well. Donovan did a fair amount of holding.
