COLAO BAY NOTES

Cold winds and passing showers have been in evidence these last few' days which have tended to make conditions unpleasant for visitors to the seaside.
A dance was held in the Murihiku Hall on Wednesday night. Music was supplied by the Murihiku string Band. Mr J. Fisher carried out the duties of M.C. Miss T. Wixon gave a song during the evening which was greatly appreciated. On Saturday the Cameron Hdme'.boys returned to Invercargill accompanied by Mr and Mrs Bates and Miss Calvert.
Mrs Johnston and family, of Pukemaori, who have been guests at Shirley House during the holidays, returned home on Saturday. Mr and Mrs Wettie, of Waimatua, returned home on Saturday after spending a fortnight at Colac. Mr Lance Fahey returned to Winton on Monday after spending the week-end with Mr and Mrs Thomas Kgerton.
Mrs A. Hannon, Invercargill, and her two daughters returned home on Saturday after spending a holiday at Colac. Mr George Baites, of Woodend, returned home on Tuesday after spending a few weeks here.
Mr and Mrs Mouat and family, of Castlerock, who spent a week here, left for home on Sunday. The Wairio railway picnic was held at Colac on Sunday, January 25, some 500 people travelling by train. The weather was fine and a pleasant' day’s outing was spent. The Nightcaps Band was in attendance.
