LABOURER’S SUICIDE

FOLLOWING DRINKING BOUT. (Per United Press Association.) Marton, January 7. James Curran, an elderly farm labourer employed at Porewa near Marton, was found to-day hanged from a tree. At the inquest a verdict of suicide while in a state, of depression following on a drinking bout was returned. The deceased was a long standing resident of the district.
