GORE SCHOOL SPORTS
ANNUAL MEETING. i —:— As a preliminary to the break-up of the Gore Public School a very successful sports gathering was held in the school reserve yesterday afternoon. The weather was ideal and the children had a most enjoyable afternoon. A lengthy sports programme, which included events for both the younger and the older pupils, was carried through, prizes being generously donated by the parents. Chief interest centred in the school championship events which resulted as follows: — Boys. 100 YARDS: Cyril Stevens 1, Bob Speden 2, Arthur Brown 3. * 440 YARDS: Cyril Stevens 1, Louis Crawford 2, Rowland Rogers 3. >’. LONG JUMP: Jack Hazlett 1, Bob Speden 2, Arthur Brown 3. HIGH JUMP: Louis Crawford 1, Jack Gresham 2, Noel Kerr 3. 1930 CHAMPION: Cyril Stevens. Girls. 75 YARDS: Elsie Wilson 1, Lucillo Wallis 2, Doris Crawford 3. 100 YARDS: Elsie Wilson 1, Nancy McKitterick 2, Clancy Stark 3. 75 YARDS SKIPPING: Elsie Wilson 1, Lucille Wallis 2, Doris Crawford 3. 100 YARDS SHIPPING: Doris Crawford 1, Elsie Wilson 2, Lucille Wallis 3. 1930 CHAMPION: Elsie Wilson.
