PUBLIC NOTICES. More Meat-Better Lambs-More Wool MORE PROFIT FROM MINERAL-FED FLOCKS The suplementing of mineral elements in the form of Vita-Lik to ewes m lamb, and with lambs at foot, has been proved in practical feed tests to produce heavier lambs and more wool. In one such test carried out with 100 ewes, 50 of which received Vita-Lik and 50 without—the average weight of the lambs at birth, both lots, were: Lot 1 Vita-Lick, mineral fed, weight per lamb 9.5 lbs. Lot 2 Controls without minerals, weight per lamb 7.43 lbs. The experiment was continued after birth, Lot 1 still receiving ( Vita-Lick, and Lot 2 no minerals right through the fattening. The daily gain made by each.of these lots were as follows:— Lot 1 Mineral fed, average daily gain .48 lb. per lamb. Lot 2 Controls without minerals .37 lb. per lamb. The Vita-Lick mineral fed lambs were of greater size, strength and vigour, and were of more even development than those which were not fed minerals. The ewes had more milk and showed considerably less effects of the strain of breeding and feeding the lambs. For sheep the ideal mineral ration is Vita-Lick.
