If you’ve been an awful good child; and gone-right through the year With smiling face and cheerful hands, and never shed a tear, Nor furnished anybody with a chance of finding fault, Or doubting for a moment that you’re really “worth your salt”; If you’ve been a joy to mother, And to father a good pal, <■' To your sister and your brother Helpful, loving, thoughtful—well There is really every reason for you now to raise a cheer. Why? You’ve surely not forgotten what’s the season of the year! Christmas is a time of presents, jollity, and fun because When you’ve been an awful good child ► .
