REVISION OF DUTIES SOUGHT.

DEPUTATION TO MINISTERS

Wellington, December 17.

Revision of the duties on imported castiron pipes was sought by a deputation from the Onekaka Iron and Steel Company which waited on the acting-Prime Minister (the Hon. E. A. Ransom), the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. A. J. Murdoch) and the acting-Leader of the Legislative Council (the H6n. R. Masters) to-day. The deputation stressed the need for protection from competition from abroad and a duty of £2 a ton on imported pipes was sought. Mr Ransom said the ' representations would receive full consideration and would be placed before Cabinet.
