NO EMPLOYMENT

YOUTHS IN AUSTRALIA. GRAVITY OF POSITION. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.; Sydney, December 17. The problem of what to do with the thousands of boys who are faced with the spectre of unemployment was raised by a deputation interested in their welfare which interviewed the Minister of Mr W. F. Dunn. The deputation pointed out that in addition to the army of youths already unemployed, thousands of boys were about to leave school for whom no work could be found. They must inevitably become demoralized, and nothing but evil would result therefrom.

Mr Dunn said he fully appreciated the gravity of the position. The deputation urged that 10,000 acres of Crown land be set apart for camps, the Government to provide rations and an instructor in agriculture, where an attempt could be made to give the boys some training.

The Minister promised to look into the suggestion.
