TARIFF PROBLEM
QUESTIONS IN COMMONS. (United Press Assn. —By Telegraph—Copyright.) London, December 9. Replying in the House of Commons to Mr G. le M. Mander's inquiry whether he had made representation to Mr Scullin at the Imperial Conference in reference to the hardship caused, particularly at Wolverhampton, Wednesfield and Willehall by increases in the Australia tariff, Mr William Graham, President of the Board of Trade, said the conference members gave attention to the serious effect of all the dominions’ tariffs. The Australian tariff was not discussed in detail. Mr Mander: Do you consider the system of preferential tariffs any good to the Empire? Mr Graham: No. I am opposed to all tariffs.
