HAMILTON BURN—DIPTON ROAD.
To the Editor. Sir, —Sonic months ago a petition was taken round the Mossburn and Dipton districts for the signatures of those ratepayers in favour of a more direct route connecting Dipton and Hamilton Burn. Having heard nothing further I trust that those interested have not let it fall flat because the road should prove a valuable connecting link between the two districts and receive the support of the motoring public generally. As the road was formed some twenty years ago, except about a mile and there being only six or seven miles at the most to reform and gravel, it should prove a very suitable job for some of our unemployed, because it is near civilization. The tussocks would have to be chipped, the cub verts repaired and some forming to be done before gravelling. The men would be much better employed on the above job than building a road for “The Lost Tribe.’' —I am, etc.,
INTERESTED.
