COMMONWEALTH LOAN
APPEAL FOR SUBSCRIPTIONS. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Cooyright.) Sydney, December 9. Up to Saturday 17,500 applications amounting to £11,157,000 had been made for the Commonwealth loan. Leading business men and citizens at a meeting with the Lord Mayor, Aiderman E. Marks, decided to appeal to retailers, manufacturers and trade to invest next Friday’s turnover in the loan.
