FARMER FOUND DEAD. (Per United Press Association.) Hamilton, October 20. John Murray Thompson, aged 36 years, a married man, was'found dead on the. floor of a cowshed on his farm at Motumaoho at 1 p.m. yesterday. A pea rifle was found alongside the body. WOMAN’S BODY FOUND IN RIVER. Palmerston North, October 20. The body of Miss Sabina Radford, aged 25 years, who had been missing from Siberia, Ashhurst, since September 16, was found in the river yesterday about half a mile from Ashhurst bridge. On the day of the disappearance the deceased arose as usual to prepare breakfast but -was missed at 8 a.m. and a search failed to reveal her whereabouts. ' SHOOTING TRAGEDY. Waipukurau, October 20. A shooting tragedy occurred at Waipukurau late last evening when a married man, W. White, a dairy farmer, lost his fife near the Lindsay Settlement. In company with his partner, R. Lansdowne, the deceased was traversing a marshy paddock when a hare started up in the . rushes, the deceased giving chase. When about 20 yards from Lansdowne, there was a report and White threw up his arms and fell, probably having tripped. The full charge of the shotgun entered his left side under the armpit. Death was apparently instantaneous. SHUNTER’S ARM BROKEN. Christchurch, October 20.

While engaged in shunting at the railway yards at Lyttelton to-day William J. McDowell had an arm caught between two buffers. His right arm was broken.
