NOT IN VAIN

SIGHING FOR PLEASURE. The words “Monte Carlo” carry with them a vision of delightful hours of pleasure and profit. Nearly everyone sighs for such hours, but never enjoys them. Next week, however, Southlanders will not sigh in vain, for on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 29, Mone Carlo Fair will lie officially opened by his Worship the Mayor (Mr J. I). Campbell). Every inch of available space in the vast Drill Hall will be used for the fair and every conceivable form of amusement parlour and chocolate alley will be ‘at the disposal of the public. It is no exaggeration to say that the Dunedin Exhibition will be eclipsed by Monte Carlo in the diversity of entertainment and that May Fair will be eclipsed in the intensity of the fun and frolic. For a week Monte Carlo will continue, and country dwellers and city dwellers will leave their cares behind them in the multifarious delights provided in the Drill Hall.
