WENDONSIDE NOTES

(From Our Correspondent.) The 21st annual meeting of the Wendonside Tennis Club was held in the hall on the loth. There was a good attendance of members and Mr W. Collins occupied the chair. The balance-sheet, which showed that the club was in a good financial position, was adopted. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr A. Hamilton; president, Mr W. Collins; secretary, Mr D. Paterson; treasurer, Mr J. C. Paterson; vice-presidents, Messrs T. G. Bunting, A. J. Cameron and J. C. Paterson; committee, Mesdames W. Collins, J. C. Paterson. A. J. Cameron, T. G. Bunting, Misses M. Paterson, R. Cameron, Messrs E. Sanson, W. Collins, T. G. Bunting, A. J. Cameron, J, C. Paterson, K. W. Williamson, J. Williamson, F. Bemrose and D. Paterson. It was decided that the subscriptions be 10/- for men and 5/- for ladies and that the club supply tennis balls, also that the opening day to be on Saturday next. On Friday, the 19th, a euchre party was held in the Wendonside hall under the auspices of the Tennis Club. There was a good attendance and a very pleasant evening was spent. Mrs T. G. Bunting won the ladies’ prize and Mr H. Collins the men’s. Consolation prizes were awarded to Miss Margaret Bond and Mr W. Collins. At the conclusion of the euchre the hall was cleared for dancing. ■ Mr K. Williamson acted as M.C. while the music was provided by Messrs R. Walker (mandolin), J. Dickson (violin), T. Dickson (piano) and E. Sanson (effects).
