RIFLE SHOOTING
INVERCARGILL DEFENCE CLUB. The Saturday section of the above club fired the final of the club championship at Otatara on Saturday—7 shots at 500 and 600 yards—the 600yds only counting for the championship. Weather conditions were not of the best, a puffy wind with an occasional shower of rain keeping scores down. N. Macwilliams and A. Wilson were top at 500yds with 32 each, their scores reading, Macwilliams 5,5, 5,4, 3,5, 5 —32; Wilson 5,5, 4,4, 5,5, 4—32. At 600yds W. Henderson topped with 31 reading 5,4, 4,4, 5,4, 5—31. The aggregate for the championship and the H. and J. Smith Cup will be published later. From now on all matches will be 10 shots at each range. Practice only until the opening of the 1930-1931 season.
