INDIA CONFERENCE

QUESTION OF CHAIRMANSHIP.

(British Official Wireless.) Rugby, September 18.

Although nothing has been decided regarding the chairmanship of the RoundTable Conference on Indian affairs, it is generally assumed in London that the Prime Minister, Mr Ramsay MacDonald, will preside at the plenary session. The nature of the task before the conference makes it obvious, however, that most of the work will be done by committees of the delegates. It is expected that an announcement regarding the members of the Houses of Parliament who will be delegates at the conference, and who will be selected from the three Parliamentary parties, will be made within a few days.
