Gibson gave an interesting and instructive address on “The Care of the Feet.” After describing the structure of the foot, Dr Gibson gave a short history of footwear, tracing the development of modern boots and shoes, from the crude sandals of prehistoric times. He explained the causes of many of the foot ailments from which people of the present day suffered, and stressed the importance of wearing correct footwear, and of standing with the feet parallel, not with the toes pointed outwards. Dr Gibson illustrated his lecture with lantern slides and at the conclusion, was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
