VENTURA AT SAN FRANCISCO. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyfight.) (Rec. 8.15 p.m.) New York, September 2. The Ventura, carrying 91 of the Tahiti’s passengers, arrived here amid a tumultuous welcome. Aeroplanes escorted the Ventura through the Golden Gate, dropping flowers on the deck. At the quarantine station an official committee boarded the vessel and presented, on behalf of Ban Francisco, to Captain Meyer a scroll testifying to the brilliant rescue.
