CITY COUNCIL NOTICES. PUBLIC NOTICE is also given— THAT the Valuation Roll, the Rate Book and the estimates are now open for inspection at the offices of the Council during office hours. THAT after the expiration of fourteen days from the publication of this notice the Invercargill City Council intends to make and levy the rates and fees hereunder specified; each of the said rates and fees to be for the year commencing on the Ist day’ of April, 1930, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1931, and to be payable in one sum on the 15th day of August, 1930. 1. Pursuant to section 77, of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” a general rate of four pence and decimal one of a penny (4.1 d in the £. 2. Pursuant •to Section 84 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920., water rates in respect of ordinary supply. (a) Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied a rate of decimal nine of a penny (,9d) in the pound. The minimum rate to be ten shillings. (b) Upon all lands and buildings to which water can .be, but is not, supplied, situated within one hundred yaerds from any part of the waterworks and upon all lands with buildings thereon other than dwelling houses, a rate of one half of the rate mentioned above. Minimum rate five shillings. 3. Pursuant to Section 140 of “The Health Act, 1920,” a sepera_te rate of decimal seven five of a penny (.75d) in the pound. 4. Pursuant to Section 88 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,’’ a Street Lighting Rate of decimal three eight of a penny (.38d) in the pound. 5. Pursuant to “The Invercargill Borough Council Special Rate Empowering Act, 1928,” a special rate of six pence and decimal five seven of a penny (6.57 d in the pound. Pursuant to Section 53 of “The Rating Act, 1925,” it is intended in lieu of making and levying separately the General Rate (3.47 d the Special Rate (6.57 d the Street Lighting Rate (,38d), and the Sewerage Rate (,75d) as aforesaid, to make and levy an amalgamated rate of eleven pence, decimal one seven of a penny (11. ltd in the pound. The foregoing said rates numbered 1. to 5 inclusive to be levied on the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the CitY of Invercargill. 6. Pursuant to Section 52 of "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” a Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of four pence (4d) in the pound upon the annual rateable value of all the rateable property of the City of Invercargill. 7. Pursuant to Section 89 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” a uniform annual fee of 32/6 for the daily removal of refuse in respect of each property and a uniform annual fee of 7/6 for the weekly removal of refuse in respect of each property; AND ALSO a uniform annual fee of 25/- per pan in areas which have not been declared by resolution to be sewered areas and 35/- per pan in. areas which have been declared by resolution to be sewered areas, for each pan for a fortnightly service for the cleansing of closets which' are not connected with any public drain, such fees to be payable as a rate on the 15th day of August, 1930.
