DARING ROBBERY
BANDITS IN TELEGRAPH OFFICE. £l,OOO STOLEN. New York, February 5. A Detroit message states that 10 bandits, moving with the precision of a military squad, held up the main office of the Western Union Telegraph. They herded 11 employees and 20 customers in a back room and escaped with £lOOO. Eight confederates stood on guard. Two were just outside the doors, while two others were stationed in motor cars ready to speed away. Three others stood at the nearest corner intersection, one holding a machine-gun. By the time passers-by had realized what was happening the bandits had, secured the money and flown.
