WORLD’S HIGHEST PERCENTAGES OF BACHELORS. (Rec. 7.45 p.m.) London, February 4. The Irish Free State census figures just issued reveal'that the country possesses the world’s highest percentage of bachelors, also a marked tendency to late marriages. Between the ages of 20 and 30 the percentage of bachelors is 80 and between 30 and 35, 62. The next highest known percentage of bachelors is at Sweden, where the comparative figures are, 25 to' 30, 64 per cent. The corresponding figures for England and Wales are 45 and America 35. The returns also show that one out of every four yvomen remaining in the Free State never marry.
