THE TAMWORTH BY-ELECTION. London, December 3. Owing to the resignation of Sir Edmund Iliffe (Conservative) from the Tamworth seat the by-election resulted: Sir A. H. Steel-Maitland, an exmember of the Conservative Cabinet . ... 23,495 G. Horwill (Labour) . . . 12,759 In the 1924 election Sir Edward Iliffe was returned unopposed. At the election this year he was again elected, the voting being: Sir Edward Iliffe 29,807, G. Horwill 14,402.
